The LOSINJ 2006. will take place in touristic village Bucanje near Nerezine on the island of Losinj, from 25th till 28th May 2006.
The FIDE regulations shall be used, seven rounds of the Swiss system. The playing time will be 90 minutes + 30 seconds per move. The standings will be determined by: greater number of points, better Median "buchholz", better "buchholz", progress, number of wins. The results shall be accounted for the FIDE rating list and Croatian rating list.
All chess players may take part in the competition.
Schedule:
Thursday, 25th May: 11 a.m. - Round 1, 5.30 p.m. - Round 2.
Friday, 26th May: 10 a.m. - Round 3, 5.30 p.m. - Round 4.
Saturday, 27th May: 10 a.m. - Round 5, 5.30 p.m. - Round 6.
Sunday, 28th May: 10 a.m. - Round 7, 2 p.m. - award ceremony.
Accomodation is organized in the touristic village Bucanje, in two-room double-beded apartments and single rooms. Full info on settlement on the phone number ++385 51 237-132. Prices: 200 kn per person a day (meals included).
Entry fee: 70 kn, for women and youth (those born in 1987 or later) 50 kn. GMs and IMs don't have to pay the entry fee.
Awards (9000 kn): 1st place: 5000 kn + trophy, 2nd place: 2500 kn, 3rd place: 1700 kn, 4th place: 1200 kn, 5th place: 900 kn, 6th place: 600 kn, 7th place: 400 kn. Special awards for the best female players (300 kn, 200 kn, 100 kn), juniors U-19 (300 kn, 200 kn, 100 kn), cadets U-15 (150 kn, 50 kn), players with Elo 2001-2200 (300 kn, 200 kn, 100 kn), players with Elo >2000 (200 kn, 100 kn), as well as for the best non-FIDE rated player (200 kn, 100 kn) and best CC "Losinj" member (100 kn).
